High Quality Performance Alloy Gold UQCD!
Silke Aichhorn, one of Germany's most requested harpists performs as a soloist as well as in chamber groups. Critics and public alike applaud her versatility and skill in a range of musical styles. She is considered one of the few harpists successful in presenting the harp as solo instrument.
Aichhorn started the harp with Ursula Lentrodt, then studied with Chantal Mathieu at the well-known Lausanne Conservatory in Switzerland, where she received first prize with honours; she later studied with Han-An Liu at the Hochschule Koln in Germany. Aichhorn has won numerous cultural awards and prizes in international competitions.
Thanks to her vast repertoire and experience in various chamber configurations, she is regularly invited to international music festivals, and to play as soloist with orchestras.
A frequent guest on radio and television programs, she also gives concerts all over Europe and has performed in Brazil, Thailand, South-Korea, Japan and the U.S.A.
In December 2012, Aichhorn was awarded the title of "culture-and creativepilot" by the culture-and creative economy of the German government. Her passionate work to make the harp more recognized within society was chosen out of more than 600 applications.
"...The harpist enthused the audience not only with high virtuosity and precision, but also was able to raise singing lines out of her harp, the kinds of which audiences are not used to hearing on plucked instruments..." - Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, November 2012
